Directed by Nigel Short, Tenebrae is one of the world's leading vocal ensembles, prized for the combination of cathedral-scale intensity and chamber-choir precision. Tenebrae's recording catalogue spans Signum, LSO Live, Warner Classics, and other labels, and the ensemble has received three BBC Music Magazine Choral Awards, a BBC Music Magazine Recording of the Year Award, an Edison Classical Music Award, an Opus Klassik Award, a German Critics' Award, and a Grammy nomination. Founded by former King's Singer Nigel Short, the choir has built its reputation on precision, atmosphere, and an unusually vivid approach to text.
